Weatherford International Ltd.’s (NYSE: WFT) recent statement that it has not remediated its previously reported material weakness could affect the company’s future credit rating, Moody’s Investors Service said.
Weatherford, based in Switzerland but with its main operations in Houston, recently said it could make up to $250 million in aggregate net adjustments to correct material weakness errors, and it may delay filing its 2011 10-K for up to 15 days. The weakness is related to its incom...

GasBuddy.com predicts that Houston gasoline prices could increase between 5 cents and 20 cents per gallon by the end of this weekend.
According to a release from the website, which tracks gas prices in cities in the U.S. and Canada, a refinery fire in Washington state has helped contribute to higher gas prices, especially in states near the fire.
Also, increasing spot prices in the Great Lakes area are raising prices there by 30 cents to 45 cents on Wednesday.

Wojciech Chodan pled guilty in a Houston federal court to helping KBR Inc. (NYSE: KBR) bribe Nigerian officials to win construction contracts.
The Associated Press reports Chodan said he helped Houston-based KBR win more than $6 billion in contracts for the construction of liquefied natural gas facilities through bribes.
On Wednesday, Chodan was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and a fine of $20,000.
